Edit a Postfix file

Hi,



I want to add smtp_proxy_timeout = 600s to the main.cf file. After that I
want to do a postfix restart. Could someone supply me with the syntax to
edit that file? I'm new to Linux. I know how to drill down to the file but I
forget how to edit. I know this is easy but I'm afraid to mess something up.
